Police are investigating a possible attempt to carry out a card skimming crime at the Clydesdale Bank in High Street, Dalbeattie sometime on Wednesday 18th January 2012. About 1700 hours a customer at the cash machine found an object attached to the machine which had the appearance of a skimming type device. The matter was reported to the police however when they attended the device had been removed.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have used the machine on Wednesday 18th January and in particular if they noticed anything suspicious on the machine. Police also want to hear from anyone who may have seen the following described person loitering on the corner near to the bank around 1215 hours that day. He is described as being about 6’ tall, of Asian appearance, medium build, with a beard, about 30 years of age and was wearing a black jacket and blue cap.
